Wynwood Miami Named one of America’s Greatest Places

One of my absolute favorite places in all of South Florida is the neighborhood of Wynwood Miami. It’s the global epicenter of street art and contains some of the most stunning art and graffiti ever produced. I always take my friends and family to see Wynwood when they come to visit Miami. For the past few years, it’s been one of the top things to do in Miami whether you live here or are just visiting. The art is absolutely astonishing, the events are fun, and the whole scene in Wynwood is constantly changing, developing, and improving. And now, after years of transformation, Wynwood Miami has been officially named one of America’s Greatest Places by the American Planning Association!

The American Planning Association is a non-profit educational organization that provides leadership in the development of vital communities around the country. Every year, the American Planning Association announces their list of 15 ‘Great Places in America’, which is composed of ‘Great Neighborhoods’, ‘Great Streets’, and ‘Great Public Spaces’. For 2015 the APA chose 4 Great Neighborhoods, 5 Great Streets, and 6 Great Public Spaces. Our beloved Wynwood Miami neighborhood was selected as one of the 4 best neighborhoods in the United States. The APA chooses special places in the United States that demonstrate “exceptional planning, exceptional character, and exceptional quality. Great Places are selected once per year and represent the gold standard in terms of having community involvement, a true sense of place, a vision for the future, and strong historical and cultural interest.”
